Born November 16, 1939 in Bowlegs, Oklahoma to George Taylor and Della (Maidwell) Stroud. When Carolyn was young the family moved from Southeastern, Oklahoma to Cleveland. At that time she enrolled in to school and later graduated from Cleveland High School in 1958. On September 7, 1956 Carolyn was united in marriage to Bobby Dean Vaughan in Cleveland, Oklahoma. After her graduation from high school Carolyn and Bob moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. After her children were born Carolyn accepted employment with the Pepsi Company in the Human Resource Department. In 1973 Carolyn opened and operated the Chateau Real Estate Company in Cleveland. In 1977 Carolyn and Bob moved to Phoenix, Arizona. While living in Phoenix Carolyn began her career in Interior Design. In 1990 Carolyn and Bob moved to Mannford, Oklahoma and she opened Design Source of Tulsa and was presently operating.

Carolyn was a very spiritual person that would help take care of everybody. She was a longtime Sunday School Teacher and was a great inspiration to her family and friends that she loved so much. The family would always count on the Sunday Tradition dinner prepared with love at her home as well as for the holidays. Carolyn was currently a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Tulsa.

Carolyn went to be with her Lord and Savior June 6, 2005 at Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years 6 months and 20 days.

She was preceded in death by father, mother, two sisters Betty Teasley and Evelyn Tardiff.

Carolyn is survived by her husband; daughter; son; four sisters; two grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Mannford, Oklahoma with Rev. James Beck officiating. Burial will conclude in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Mannford, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. of Cleveland, Oklahoma
