John Hunter Ruff passed from this life on Friday, November 15, 2013. He was born on October 19, 1980, to Tami and Drew Ruff in Little Rock. Hunter was a devoted son and brother, a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, attended Harmony Grove High School, and worked diligently at a young age for the family-owned Tastee Freez, later taking on a management role, and he often fondly spoke about his many years there and the friendships he formed during that significant period of his life.
He is preceded in death by his sweet mother Tami Ruff, maternal grandfather Lester Ruffin, paternal grandparents Ardy and Geraldine Ruff, and aunt Melody Ruff.
He is survived by his father, Drew Ruff, brother Andrew Ruff, stepbrother Brandon Ruff, all of Benton; grandmother Dixie Ruffin of Benton; uncle Ardy Ruff, aunts Teresa Smith and Tara Fagan (Shelby), both of Benton; cousins Tiffany Smith of Benton, Emma Fagan of Norman, Oklahoma, Sarah Fagan and Anna Fagan of Jonesboro, Bobby Shell, Lavere Ruff, and Joel Ruff, all of Benton; and many, many other precious family members and very close friends.
Hunter loved his friends and was loved by so many. His lifelong friends say he was the best friend a person could have, and that no one will ever be as funny, caring, outgoing and loyal. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Hunter was really looking forward to cooking Thanksgiving dinner with his family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an organization such as the Arkansas Food Bank to help other families enjoy this holiday season.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at New Rosemont Memorial Park in Benton with Bro. Norris Doddridge officiating. Funeral arrangements by Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047). [from Roller-Ballard Funeral Home online obituary]
