She was killed in the Allen Family Massacre by Indians aligned with England's Burgoyne along with her parents, her older sister, baby brother and 2 or 3 of her grandfather George Kilmer's slaves. This act helped arouse the patriots to their cause with two victorious battles at Saratoga in 1777.
