TILLERY, John "Terry" Went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 29, 2014. He was born on March 27, 1933 at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio to John Floyd and Anna Mae (Claunch) Tillery. Terry was a 1952 graduate of Burlington High School in Burlington, Kentucky. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 as a radio operator. On May 7, 1955 he married Joyce Audrey Acra at the East Bend Baptist Church in Rabbit Hash, Kentucky and they were married 58 years. Together they had four children, Gerald Lynn (Debbie) Tillery, Alan Lloyd (Jodi) Tillery, John Kenneth (Donna) Tillery and Amy Jo (Larry) Brown. They have five grandchildren, Anna (Nik) Hudgins, Stacey (Jake) Holland, Patrick (Sarah) Brown, Leah Tillery and Brad Tillery and one great grandchild, Domanik Hudgins. Terry retired from Hamilton Tool in 1996 after 24 years of service. Terry was a very active member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served in many ways. He sang tenor in the IBC Family Choir and spent many happy times with the Hilltopper group. He loved to hunt and fish and follow the Kentucky Wildcat basketball games. He was a wonderful Christian leader, respected, was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jenny Strickler. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Tillery, his brothers, Robert, Doug and Jimmy, a sister, Kathy Hildebrand, his children, grandchildren and great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. with Rev. Orville Roach and Rev. Ron Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, April 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Heart Association , P. O. Box 15120, Chicago, Illinois 60693.
