Mrs. Kundert, 88, a longtime Pine Island-area homemaker, died Thursday morning (April 6, 1995) at Pine Haven Care Center where she resided one year.
Effie Andrist was born Sept. 9, 1906, in Milton Township, Dodge County. On Aug. 20, 1936, she married Arlie J. Kundert in Kasson. They farmed in the area and her husband also was a livestock dealer and truck driver. He died Dec. 6, 1984. Mrs. Kundert moved into Pine Island after her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Olmsted County Extension Service.
Survivors include two sons, Donald L. of Oronoco and Robert L. of Rochester; a daughter, Delores (Mrs. Eugene) Schultz of Winona; seven grandchildren; a sister, Annie (Mrs. Arnold) Stafford of Pine Island; and four brothers, Walter and Alfred Andrist, both of Tucson, Ariz., and Dave and John Andrist, both of Rochester. Two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Mahler Funeral Home in Pine Island and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
