Adele Ruth Pedersen was born to William Cleveland and Maude (Reddington) League on October 18, 1915 in Walnut Iowa. She attended Walnut schools and graduated in 1933. Adele married William Thompsen on April 27, 1938 in Walnut and they were blessed with three children, Mary Lou, Jeri and Bill. On February 18, 1972, William died in Harlan, Iowa. Then, on July 31, 1976, she married Louis Hagner Pedersen in Griswold, Iowa. Adele worked as a cook at Peace Haven in Walnut from 1966-1983. In May of 2011 she moved to Fergus Falls, Minnesota to be close to daughter Jeri (Thompsen) McDaniel. Adele R. Pedersen died on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at the Pioneer Care Center in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, having reached the age of 99 years, 7 months, and 23 days. Adele loved to crochet, dance and cook for her family. She was a loving, gentle lady and will be missed by all. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Mon., June 15th, at the First Presbyterian Church in Walnut. Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan had the arrangements.
