The son of Nicholas Dermore Brocker and Anna "Annie" Webberking, Norman spent his early years in Pennsylvania.

His family moved to Missouri in the mid-1930's, and he attended Central High School in St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri. He was a strong student in the sciences, and was on the Senior Honor Roll in May of 1937. It was noted in high school that he already had an interest in aviation at that time.

Norman served in the United States Army during World War II. He entered the service on 01 Aug 1942.

Shortly after being drafted, Norman married Lauretta Lee Schneider on 19 Sep 1942. He received his discharge from the army on 05 Dec 1945.

Norman and Lauretta were the parents of 1 child. The family lived in St. Joseph.

Norman worked as a mechanic, a technician, and an aircraft electrician for the Missouri Air National Guard. Lauretta was a secretary.

At the time of his death, he was 65 years, 7 months and 10 days old.

Survivors included his wife; 1 daughter; and 1 brother, Melvin Brocker.

Norman was preceded in death by his mother and father.

His wife, Lauretta, passed away in 2013 and was buried next to him.

Children: 1 daughter.
