August 3, 2005 - Doris Elizabeth (Weller) Vile, 83, passed away at her home, surrounded by her daughters, after a brief but difficult battle with cancer.
Doris was predeceased by her husband Harold "Jim" Vile in 1987 and since predeceased by six brothers and sisters.
Before retirement she worked at the Valley Inn and Collins Restaurant for many years. She was a member of the United Christian Church, Marietta, NY.
Her daughters survive her: Audrey Hill of Winchester, VA, Nancy Thorpe of Elbridge, NY, Monica Evans of Marcellus, NY, Lorna Hill of Sterling, NY, Dorees Mulvihill of Preble, NY, and Sonya (Charles W.) Daily of Marcellus, NY. Doris has 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles, NY. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 49 Jordan St.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Central New York, 900 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088, or The United Christian Church of Marietta, Rt. 174 & Rt. 20, Marietta, NY 13110.
A special thanks to Hospice and everyone who helped make our Mother's last days comfortable, especially Jackie Allen who showed us all her love and compassion in Mom's final days. She is our angel!
