Son of John Benjamine and Mary E. Mitchell Bott.

"Uncle" Harry Bott was a rather excentric man.

When people would ask why he wore a long, dark, wool coat in the heat of summer, he would reply that, "what keeps out the cold keeps out the hot".

He would take the old trail through the woods, from Bott Hollow, to go visit his cousin, Sarah Ellen "Sallie" Bott Goodwin, on a regular basis, wearing his long, dark, wool coat.
