Leverne Ervin Busse 1920-1993

Leverne E. Busse, age 72, of 4807 Mueller road, Sheboygan, died at his residence on Wednesday, January 13, 1993, of apparent heart failure.

Funeral services for Levern E. Busse will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 1993, at St. John & St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cleveland.

The Rev. Henry Koch will officiate, interment will be in St. Johannes Cemetery, Hika Bay following Military Rites.

He was born July 26, 1920, in the Town of Eden, Manitowoc County, son of the late Carl and Lydia Kreher Busse.

He attended school in Manitowoc County. Levern was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during World War II.

Marcella Roethel and Levern Busse were united in marriage on November 8, 1947, at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Schwartzwald.

Levern was employed by the Kohler Company for over 35 years, retiring in 1982.

He was a member of Sts. John & Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cleveland, the Franklin American Legion Kupfhal Meier Scheib Post 387, the Kohler Quarter Century Club and the Once a Month Danicing Club.

Levern enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gardening were his hobbies. He took pleasure in his garden produce, sometimes selling at the Sheboygan Farmers Market.

Survivors of Levern E. Busse include his wife; one son, Randall (Lynn) Busse, Cleveland; two daughters, Mrs. (Gerald) Donna Wieland, Howard Grove, Mrs. (Dennis) Nancy Hein, Rural Plymouth; seven grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Wallace (Marilyn) Roethel, Cleveland; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Busse.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Friends may call at the Zimmer Funeral Home in Howards Grove on Friday, January 15, 1993, from 3-8 p.m. where the Franklin American Legion will conduct Memorial Services at 7 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Levern E. Busse.
