Virgie Bratcher, 86, of Caneyville, passed away Thursday, June 4th, 2015 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

She was born on June 21, 1928 in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Merdia Blakely and Willie E (Sermon) Woosley. Virgie worked as a seamstress. She attended Small’s Grove Church.

Virgie is survived by her three sons, Roger Bratcher (Rita), Ricky Bratcher (Denise) both of Caneyville, and Don Bratcher (Linda) of Louisville; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Troy Bratcher; a son Jerold Bratcher; two brothers Jake Woosley and Carman Woosley; and two sisters Helen Swift and Emeleen Phelps; and one grandson Troy Edward Bratcher.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 8th at 11:00am CST at Smalls Grove Church in Caneyville. Bro Randall Deweese will be officiating. Burial will be in the Cain Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Sunday after 12:00 pm CST. Visitation will be on Monday at the church from 9:00am CST until time of service.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Kosair Children’s Hospital or to The Crusade for Children.
