Dorothy Fingar Barringer, age 95 of Murfreesboro, died Saturday at Community Care. Mrs. Barringer was a native of Christiana, and was the daughter of the late Edgar and Tabitha Johnson Fingar. She was preceded in death by her husband, John David Barringer who died in 1971.
Mrs. Baringer is survived by two nephews, Myers Parsons and Charles Powell both of Murfreesboro; three nieces, Sylvia Fingar Hunziker of IL, Marcia Fingar Westra of AZ and Iris Parsons Young of Murfreesboro.
Mrs. Barringer was a life member of Christiana Baptist Church. She loved her church and was interested in the affairs of the community and had lots of friends. She left the farm and moved to Murfreesboro in 1974.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Franklin Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Christiana with Johnny Pugh, Mark Blackwelder, Ben Johnson, Christopher Carter, Charles Johnson and Matthew McCloud serving as Active Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Myers Parsons, Ben Williams and Harold Beasley.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 12 noon until time of service at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, 615-893-5151
