Funeral services for Anna G. Cornell, age 79, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church. The Rev. Linda Gunderson will officiate. Interment will be in Central Freeborn Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Ann died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.

Ann was born May 10, 1924, to Thomas and Helga (Olson) Trostheim in Scarville, Iowa.

She attended school in Thompson, Iowa. Ann worked for several families, as in her words a &uot;hired girl.&uot; On Nov. 4, 1944, she was united in marriage to Roger W. Anderson. To this union five children were born: Gary, Diane, Barb, Donald and Mary. He preceded her in death in 1967. On Feb. 16, 1973, Ann married Kenneth Christenson. He preceded her in death in 1981. On Sept. 23, 1984, Ann and Arthur R. Cornell were married in Reno, Nev. Ann was a true homemaker who found great joy in making a home for her husbands, children, and grandchildren. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the church circles, and involved in many other church activities. She was also a member of the Birthday Club and the Twin Lakes Card Club. Ann also enjoyed car trips, doll collecting and bird watching.

Survivors include her husband, Art Cornell; children: Gary and his wife Sharon Anderson, Diane and her husband Gene Wangen, Barb and her husband Bill Kneeland, Donald and his wife Kathy Anderson, and Mary Anders; step children: Randy, Curtis, and Donna; brothers: Elmer and his wife Harriet, and Gilman Trostheim; sisters: Helen and her husband George Young, and Clarice and her husband LaVerne Olson; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Roger Anderson and Kenneth Christenson; sister-in-law, Burnette Trostheim; and one nephew in infancy.
