Terry Lewis Gibbs, a longtime Stillwater resident, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Stillwater Hospital at the age of 60.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater, OK.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Stillwater, OK.
Terry was born on December 30, 1954 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to the late Jimmie and Zelma (Edwards) Gibbs. He grew up in Stillwater, graduating from Stillwater High School in 1972. After graduation, he enlisted in Army and the National Guard, serving his country proudly. After returning from the service, Terry attended NOC/Tonkawa and O.S.U. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting, yard work and building things. Terry also loved his turtle “grub”.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Marquetta Dean of Oklahoma City, Jimmie Gibbs Jr. and wife, Shelia Gibbs of Stillwater, Marilyn Gibbs-Brown of Stillwater, Joyce Douglas and husband, Bobby of Stillwater, Cothea Hicks and husband, Steve of Wake Forest, North Carolina, Keith Simmons of Oklahoma City, his auntie, Louise Wafer of Atlanta, Georgia, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bart Simmons, brother-in-law Donald Brown.
