Nathan Wood served in the Revolutionary War. He went to Cambridge upon hearing of the battles of Lexington and Concord, April 19, 1775, for ten days' service as Private in Captain Noah Miles' Company, Colonel John Whictomb's Regiment. At the time of the "Bennington Alarm" caused by the battle at that place, Aug. 16, 1777, he was a Private in Captain Elisha Jackson's company of Minute Men in Colonel Bridges' Regiment, which marched from Westminster to East Hoosick, N.Y. for 10 days service in anticipation of an attack by Gen. Burgoyne.
