We Mourn.

Eli O. Hasbrouck, of Akeley, Passes Away.

Thursday morning Dec. 6th at about 9:00 o,clock Eli Owin Hasbrouck departed this life at his home in Akeley.
He has been sick for a number of weeks with typhoid fever, but at no time was his life dispared of. Thursday morning he had been sitting up in his bed attending to some matters of business and after assuring his employee that he would be about to attend to business in a couple of weeks, expressed a wish to lie down. They assisted him to do so and in a very short time his wife was startled by his gasping for breath, though all was done to relieve him that could be, he never spoke again and lived only a very few moments.
Deceased was born and raised in the town of Carlos, Douglas county Minn., and was the youngest son of a family of seven children, born to Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Hasbrouck, one of the oldest and most highly respected families in that county.
Deceased was married there at the age of 20 years to Mis Ida Freemon, who is still living, and mourns deeply the loss of a kind, loving and honored husband. She feels the loss more keenly perhaps as no children have been born to them.
His brothers and sisters, father and mother, and a host of nephews and nieces mourn his loss as perhaps few men are mourned. this is due to a pleasant, amiable and forebearing disposition.
He was one looked up to and respected by the entire comunities where he had lived.
The funeral will be held from his home at 2:00 o'clock today. His father and mother, one brother and sister are expected from Alexandria, one brother from Louse, this state, one sister from near Park Rapids, one sister (the editor's mother) and a number of nephews and nieces from the South end of Cass County, and one brother, who resides in Akeley will be present.
The services will be taken in charge by the Modern Woodman and Mackabees of Akeley, of which he was an honored member.
