CORONER'S INQUEST POSTPONED
Coroner Delap today empaneled a jury and postponed the inquest in the case of Alois Gretler, 50 years old [*note: actually 60*], a tailor's cutter, who committed suicide at his home, 288 Bleeker Street, yesterday, by swallowing carbolic acid. Three months ago Gretler was discharged from the shop of Henry Zorn, on Stanhope Street, where he was employed. Although there was no immediate fear that Gretler would be in want, or dispossessed from his home, as all of his three children, two boys and a girl, who are nearly grown, have steady employment, he became despondent. He expressed a wish that his body be cremated, which will be done.
