Guy Ernest Delaney, 85, of Carmichaels, died at 10 am Monday, February 13, 1967 in the Greene County Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He was born January 31, 1882 at Garards Fort, a son of the late Dennis and Elizabeth Seaton Delaney. His wife, Lillian Markle Delaney, whom he married September 14, 1918, survives. He attended the Carmichaels Greene Academy and was a retired school teacher after having taught school in Greene County for 28 years. He had lived most of his life in the Carmichaels area and was a member of the John Corbly Memorial Baptist Church, Garards Fort, and the Odd Fellow Club of Carmichaels.

Surviving, besides his wife, are two daughters, Louise, wife of Michael Myshin of Charleroi and Betty, wife of Henry Bacan of Carmichaels; three sons, Paul M. at home, Guy E., Jr., of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Dennis P., of New Haven, Conn; two brothers, O. Thomas Delaney of Virginia Beach, Va.; and Edwin P. of Brownsville; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Deceased are one son, James, and one brother, Albert. Services were held Thursday with burial in Garards Fort Cemetery.
