Guy E. Delaney Jr., age 84, of Perrysburg, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2008, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born on June 9, 1923, in West Newton, Pennsylvania, to Guy Ernest Delaney and Lillian May(Markle) Delaney. Guy served in the Army in World War II in the European Theater of Operation. Then at the age of 23, he married Theresa Roach. They moved from Pennsylvania to Perrysburg, Ohio, to begin a career with Washington Distributors, the owner of Bargain City Stores. Guy worked in various capacities, from Supervisor to Buyer, until the early 1980's. He was an avid golfer. In his later years, he invested much of his time in his grandchildren, teaching his grandson, John, to golf and garden. Guy was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, of Perrysburg, where he served as an usher for over 30 years. For the past year, he attended Dayspring Assembly of God, in Bowling Green, Ohio. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6170, Knights of Columbus, and the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. No. 1850. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Delaney; daughters, Deborah and Sara; brother, Oliver Thomas Delaney; grandchildren, Reshma, Amol; Jeanette, Joshua, Rebekah, John, and Laura and great-grand-children, Reyna and Dylan. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne - Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, after 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 12:00 noon officiated by Pastor Steve Davis, of Dayspring Assembly of God.
