Born in Shelley, Idaho to William and Fontella Humpherys (spelling change at later date), Ken moved to Butte, Montana with family at age of 2. Ken married Annette Cote in 1940 and began working for Anaconda Copper Mining Company; he also served in the U.S. Army. He moved his family to Yerington in 1952. In 1962 Ken married Carlyece Wallace and moved to Carson City where they owned and operated a beauty salon. Ken also began a career with the State of Nevada, Employment Security Dept. After retirement they moved to Reno. Ken and Carlyece traveled throughout the U.S. and abroad. A favorite was always Mt. Shasta, CA.
Ken is survived by his wife Carlyece and 10 children - daughters Lorraine Fox (Bob), Barbara Frolich, Valerie Cook (Rich), Anne Bybee, Lucia Damti, Norma Aguirre (Art) and sons Leo Humphreys (Marlene), Dr. Denis Humphreys (Rocky), Miles Humphreys, and Kenneth W. Humphreys, Jr. He is also survived by stepchildren Janie Dunn (Jim) and Carl Wallace (Candy) and their families. He leaves 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He passed away peacefully at home, with family at his side, at the age of 93. Ken will be inurned at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery in Reno.
