CHILLICOTHE - James I. Ladd, 73, of Chillicothe passed away Friday, May 29, 2015, at Heritage Health Care in Chillicothe. James was born on Sept. 8, 1941, in Peoria, the son of Harold and JoAnn (Shephard) Ladd.Surviving are his two daughters, Shana (Justin) Blanch of Pekin and Susan (Chris) Rees of Quincy; four grandchildren, Sophie Blanch, Daphnie Blanch, Cameron Rees and Courtney Rees; brother, Bill (Ruth) Ladd of Chillicothe; sister, Janet Howald of Peoria Heights; niece, Abbie (Ken) Swanson; great-niece, Kinleigh Swanson; and his special friend, Lois Varvil. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. James was a semi driver throughout his life. He also owned and operated JL Inspection Services in Chillicothe, where he worked as a building inspector. He enjoyed watching movies, making people laugh and being around his grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman.James was a ballistic missile maintenance technician in the U.S. Army.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Blue Ridge Methodist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service time at the church. The Rev. Ron Martz will officiate. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery.
