Luther Hargis of Shopville, Pulaski County, Kentucky, died after an illness of two months. He was 61 years old.
He was survived by his father, W.A. Hargis; his brothers, Clarence Hargis of Harrison, Ohio, Arthur Hargis of Somerset, Kentucky, and Oscar Hargis of Monroe, Michigan; his half-brothers and sisters, Allen Hargis of Arlington, Ohio, Vestel Hargis of Shopville, Kentucky, Albert Hargis of Shopville, Kentucky, Elva Riley of Covington, Indiana, and Elizabeth Whitaker of Hamilton, Ohio; and his step-brothers, Welda Whitaker of Cincinnati, Ohio and Lum Whitaker of Somerset, Kentucky.
He was formerly married to Fannie Eaton Hargis.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lila Toby Hargis.
Funeral services were held at the Rock Lick Baptist Church with Reverend Gene Hansford officiating.
