Bonnie Jean Beacham, 83, passed away June 16, 2006 in Colorado Springs. She was born January 17, 1923 in Osage, Texas to George Andrew and Della May Crawford. Bonnie grew up in Coryell City, Texas, a farming community. She excelled in school graduating in 1940 with the honor of class Salutatorian. While attending high school Bonnie met her future husband, Garland, at a community soup supper. After a two year courtship, they were married in Glen Rose, TX., in 1941. The following year Garland was drafted and served his country during World War II. After the war Garland and Bonnie settled in Colorado Springs where they have lived the past 63 years. Bonnie and Garland raised three daughters. Bonnie was a very active member of First Baptist Church. She and her daughters supervised the church nursery for many years. Bonnie also cared for several church members' children in her home reflecting her love of babies and children. Bonnie enjoyed sewing, needlework, crocheting, homemaking, telling family stories to her grandchildren and following the Denver Broncos. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Garland Louis and her daughters: Shirley J. Farnsworth, G. Marie Stansbury and Margaret A. Perry; and sons-in-law: Charles G. Stansbury and Robert J. Perry. Bonnie leaves five grandsons; Garland A. Stansbury, J. Christopher McDonald, Mark A. McDonald, Gerald A. Stansbury and Michael L. McDonald; and five great-grandchildren. Her brothers: James T. Crawford and Tommie A. Crawford preceded her in death. A service celebrating Bonnie's life was held June 19 at First Baptist Church. She was buried at Evergreen Cemetery.
