MEXICAN SPRINGS — Services for Cody Bitsie, 15, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 26 at First United Methodist Church, 1800 Red Rock Dr., Gallup. Rev. Rome Wagner will officiate. Burial will follow on family land, Mexican Spring.

Visitation will be at held from 5-8 p.m., today at Cope Memorial Chapel.

Bitsie died April 21 in Farmington. He was born June 15, 1985 in Gallup to the Mexican Clan into the Folded Arms Clan.

Bitsie was a sophmore at Tohatchi High School. He was a member of the New Mexico High School Rodeo Association, IJRA and USTRC. He competed in Saddle Bronc and Team Roping events where he recieved numerous awards. His hobbies included camping, hunting, fishing, roping and learning various native chants.

Survivors include his parents, Curtis and Annette Bitsie of Mexican Spring; brothers, Shawn Billie of Mexican Springs; sisters, Michelle Bitsie of Tohlakai, Rebecca Bitsie and Adrianna Bitsie both of Mexican Springs; grandparents, Katie Lyman of Greasewood, Ariz., Betty Bitsie and Ernest Bitsie both of Mexican Springs.

Bitsie was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Lyman.

Pallbearers will be Beau Bitsie, Bradford Bitsie, Jeff Manuelito, Jr. Hunt, Benny Yazzie Jr. and Brandon Bates.

The family will receive friends and relatives after the burial services at Curtis and Annette Bitsie's residence.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
