Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Harper Presbyterian Church for Lee Olyn Bierschwale, 23, with Rev. Charles Workman in charge. Smith directed the rites and interment was in the Harper Cemetery.
Young Bierschwale, who was a native of Harper, died of injuries received Thursday morning when the car in which he was riding overturned on the Harper Road.
Carlos Bierschwale, brother of the victim, and Vester Parker, Jr. who were passengers in the car, were uninjured. The car his some loose grave, throwing the driver from the car.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the 187 Port Company, 487 Port Battalion, for about two and one-half years.
The survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bierschwale, Bland; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Sheppard, Harper, and Miss Valeska Bierschwale, Bland; and six brothers, Carroll, Paul, Hal, J. W., and J. C. Bierschwale, all of Bland, and Fred Bierschwale, Jr. of the U. S. Army, stationed in New York. Two grandmothers, Mrs. William Mosel, Harper and Mrs. Joe Stovall, Willow City, also survive.
Pallbearers were Virgil Lennon, Dennis Parker, Ted Rogers, Dayton Rahe, Harold Rahe and B. C. Sageser, Jr.
