While serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII, Lee was aboard the USS Boston in the South Pacific.
Lee married his sweetheart Rae Stout on November 29, 1947 in Ely, Nevada. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. They were married 67 years and made their home in Cedar City, Utah.
As a masonry contractor, Lee contributed to the building of many projects in the Cedar City area.
Lee was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served faithfully. As a couple, Lee and Rae served 3 missions for the church. They served at both the LDS Employment Center and at the Bishop’s Storehouse.
Lee is survived by his wife Rae, 5 children, Linda (Roger) Strate, Salt Lake City, Gary (Ann) Banks, Cedar City, Joy (Claude) Grant, New Harmony, Bonnie (Rick) Jorgensen, Cedar City, Jodi (Greg) Turner, Reno, Nevada, 22 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 12:00 pm at the Indian Hills LDS Ward Chapel, at 1120 West Greens Lake Drive, Cedar City, Utah. Viewings will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Both viewings will be at the church. Interment will be at the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
