LYDIA - Funeral services for Junius "Ya Ya" Provost, 85, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Rev. Fabre and Rev. Freyou officiating. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in Patoutville.

Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 8 a.m. until the time of services with a 10:30 a.m. rosary.

A native of Grand Marais and resident of La Marque, Texas, for 13 years, Mr. Provost died at 2:03 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, in La Marque, Texas, following an extended illness.

Mr. Provost was a retired mechanic.

He is survived by two sons, Andrew Paul Provost and Willie Boutte, both of New Iberia; two daughters, Trula M. Mickens of Dickinson, Texas, and Annette M. Boutte of New Iberia; his brother, Clarence Provost of Houston; four sisters, Gladys P. Green, Beatrice P. Landry, Mable P. Sullivan and Clara Provost, all of Houston; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Provost was preceded in death by his wife, Septima B. Provost; his son, Murphy Provost; three brothers, Joseph, Wilfred and Frank Provost Jr.; two sisters, Eunice Provost Boutte and Mildred Provost; and his parents, Frank and Virginia Provost.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey and Thaddeus Turner, Norris, Melvin, Clarence and David Boutte, Willis Provost and Richard Chapital.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew P., Clarence and Wendell Provost, Eldridge and Willie Boutte, Benward Olivier, John Louviere and Phil Rideaux.

Journet and Bolden Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
