DRAPER — Morris Odell Lawson, 75, of 3317 Lee Highway, Draper, died Saturday night, Oct. 16, 1999, in the Pulaski Community Hospital.

He was born on December 29, 1923 in Alpoca, W. Va. and was the son of the late Elza Lawson and Lilly Carnell Lawson.

He was also preceded in death by brother Harry Lawson and by one sister, Vida Alexander.

He was a retired millwright at Celanese, Narrows, Va.

He was veteran having served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Mr. Lawson was a member of the VFW Post #6000, Narrows, a member and Deacon of the Draper Christian Church were he was also the Sunday School Superintendent and Chairman of the Board.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Joan Lawson of Draper, Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Randy Smith of Pulaski; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry Lawson of Draper, and Terry and Mary Lawson of Draper; one sister, Beulah Rupe of Pulaski; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Wilfred Overton and the Rev. Tom McCrea officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, with Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites.
