LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 28, 2015 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette for Clara Marie Gary, age 88, the former Clara Marie Albert, who passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. The Rev. Michael Deblanc, associate pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette, will officiate at the services.

Ms. Gary was a native of St. Martinville and a resident of Lafayette for most of her life. She retired from Golden Cleaners in Lafayette in 1996 after 43 years of service. She volunteered as a foster grandparent at St. Leo Seton Elementary School and Alice Boucher Elementary School for 15 years. Ms. Gary was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Anne "Pat" Boutin and husband, Calvin, of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Hali Boutin and Damon Boutin; seven great grandchildren, Gage Boutin, Kelsea Boutin, Jude Boutin, Jayda Theriot, Kalon Duplantis, Braylon Duplantis and Haydon Duplantis; two brothers, Zerben Albert and wife, Theresa, and Carrol Albert, all of Lafayette; two sisters, Gertrude Mouton of Scott, Lula Mae Landry and husband, Wiley, of St. Martinville; and her former husband, Willie Gary of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aymar Albert and the former Cecile Laviolette; and four brothers, Harry Albert, Clarence Albert, Newton "N.J. Albert and Cleopha Albert.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Damon Boutin, Calvin Boutin, Gage Boutin, Shane Duplantis, Harry Albert and Kenneth Mouton. Honorary pallbearers will be Zerben Albert, Carrol Albert, Jude Boutin and Kalon Duplantis.
