The nearby village of Cashmere was abandoned between 1902 and 1910, primarily due to local flooding conditions. The cemetery soon fell into a state of disrepair as the people left the town.
During the early 1970's, the Mosa Township Cemetery Board erected a monument. The names inscribed are those that were collected from all the old broken grave markers that were collected and identified.
In general, there are no known surviving cemetery records of the individual's first names who are buried here; their identities are forever lost to history.
However, the family records of Abraham Sullivan and Zillah Harriet Allen were kept by Mildred Petri Hunt (g-granddaughter) and allowed the family to be reconstructed. (Editor Robert Yagley).
