LUBBOCK-Florine L. Davis passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 86 years on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel with burial that afternoon at 3 p.m. in Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring.
Florine was born on Oct. 11, 1928, to John and Edna (Howell) Wood. She grew up on a farm in Camp Springs, Texas, and following graduation from high school she moved to Abilene and attended Draughon's Business College. Florine moved to Big Spring where she met and married Calvin Davis. She worked for Cosden Oil and Gas Company, which is now Alon USA, retiring after 30 years. She was a member of the Big Spring First Baptist Church. Florine moved to Lubbock following her husband's death in 1990 to be closer to family. She joined Bacon Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed being retired and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, L.E. Wood. Florine is survived by her brother, Dan Wood of Lubbock, and four nieces, Debra Wood of Lubbock, Ann Wood of Coppell, Cathy Baudoin of Houston, and Danna Williams of Ft. Worth.
