Caleb Knapp was born on 20 January 1636/37 in Watertown, Massachusetts Bay Colony, a son of Nicholas Knapp and Eleanor ______.

He married Hannah Smith in Stamford, New Haven Colony circa 1660.

Propounded as a freeman of Stamford by the General Assembly at Hartford on 14 October 1669 and again on 12 May 1670.

He died in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut between the writing of his will on 11 October 1674 and the inventory of his estate on 4 March 1674/75.
