When Naomi graduated from Quish Beauty School in 1941, she never dreamed she would spend 62 years as a beautician, but she loved it. She enjoyed having her own shop, Naomi’s Beauty Shop, and loved the women she employed and all of her patrons and friends.
Naomi was a member of the Hilliard Ward for about 85 years. Then the ward boundaries changed in March of 2008 and her membership was moved to the Uinta View Ward. In the Hilliard Ward, she worked many years in the Primary. She was set apart as the first counselor with her mother, Mary, as the president from 1949 until 1962. Bishop Joseph Barker called Naomi to be the president from 1962 until 1972. Then Bishop Harold Hutchinson called her to be president again from 1977 to1983. She loved the Primary and made so many friends and influenced so many lives. She also worked in the Woodruff Stake Relief Society as the Magazine Representative with President Lottie Burleigh from 1952 to 1962. She was the Woodruff Stake Sunday School Secretary from 1955 to 1957 with President Joseph Barker. The other calling, Naomi had for most of her life was that of visiting teacher. Naomi loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her children, Theda Marie (Fred) Ochoa and Calvin (Linda); her grandchildren, Matt (Mindy), Kirk (Erin), Lauryn (Rob) Murdock, and Jeffrey; her grandchildren, Blake, Ethan Harris, Alexis, Gabrielle, Nixon Harris, John, Elizabeth, and David Murdock; her son-in-law, Efren Antonio; her siblings, Margaret Sim, Delbert (Nelda) Barker, Rita (Keith) Evans, sister-in-law Linda Barker and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
