TEXOLA, OKLA. - Esther Marie Essary, 76, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, in Oklahoma City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Texola Baptist Church with David Dunham officiating. Burial will be in Texola Cemetery by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home.

Esther Marie Essary was born July 10, 1929, in her grandparents' home in Finney County, Kan., to Helen Elizabeth and Ralph Waldo Adams. She passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2006, in Oklahoma City at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 11 days.

Esther lived with her parents in the Lakin, Kan., community, where she graduated from high school. She graduated from Fort Hays, Kan., and began teaching. Esther taught for two years and then began working at the grocery store.

She married Daniel Wilson Essary on Oct. 31, 1955, in Spearman, Texas. They lived in Borger, Texas, before moving to the Erick/Texola communities. Esther served as the last postmaster for Texola from 1987 until May 2005. She was a member of Texola Baptist Church.

She moved to Elk City in 2006 to be near her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel Essary; and a great-grandson, Tanner Graham-Curtis.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and David Dunham of Amarillo, Texas, Dee Ann Graham of Alva and Anita Beth and Terry Archer of Elk City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Pam Essary of Sayre and John Wesley and Eunice Essary of Texola; a sister, Opal Wilson of LaJunta, Colo.; a brother, Vernon Adams of Baxter Springs, Kan.; 11 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joanna, Rachel, Jerry Jr., Daniel, Jessie, Teresa, Neil, Nick, Branden and Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Elaine, Grace, Kamden and Emily; and a host of other relatives and friends.
