CASTINE - Helen Marie Silsby Goodwin, age 85, died April 2, 2015 at Northern Bay Residential Center in Penobscot. She was born October 13, 1929 in Bangor and was the beloved daughter of the late Harvey and Marion Silsby.

Helen was predeceased by her husband, Francis X. Goodwin.

Helen was a graduate of the Northern Conservatory of Music where she also served on the faculty in the early 60's. For a number of years she accompanied The Singing Mariners Chorus of the Maine Maritime Academy as they performed live and produced several record albums. Additionally she accompanied several offerings of Cold Comfort Productions in Castine and, on any Sunday morning, could be found as the guest organist in any one of several churches in Castine. In addition to her love of music Helen also had a passion for knitting and shared her talent and creations with many.

She is survived by several close friends, Tom Daley and his wife Helen of Cohasset, MA; John Lyons and his wife Janet of Yarmouth; Tom Garrett of Tampa, Fl; and John O'Reilly and his wife Mo of Sedgwick.
