Ryan Laird Ball died Sunday in St. Mary's Hospital. He was 23. Ryan died from injuries he received in an auto accident four years ago. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Grand Junction Church of Christ with Bill Smith officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Ryan was an engineering student at University of Colorado in Boulder at the time of his accident. He was a Grand Junction resident since 1979. He was born March 11, 1968, to Lawrence "Larry" and Caroline Moran Ball in Boulder. They survive. He spent his childhood in Boulder, Grand Junction and Annapolis, Md. He graduated from Williston-Northampton School, East Hampton, Mass. in 1987. Ryan was a member of the Grand Junction Church of Christ, 2893 F Road. He was also a member of the Cum Laude Society at Williston Northampton School, a member of the Buddy Warner USA Ski Program, and of the Music, Art, Dance and Drama Church Camp at LaForte. He enjoyed skiing, soccer, lacrosse, computers, math, science, and church activities. Other survivors include two brothers, Daniel L. Ball of Grand Junction and Logan E. Ball of Arvada; and a sister, Stacey Laura Lucero of Grand Junction. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colorado Head Injury Foundation in care of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ball. Callahan-Edfast Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
