James Eckert passed away Wednesday, May 20th, at the age of 91. James Ewald Eckert was born at home in Stonewall, Texas on September 30, 1923. The first born son of Benno H. Eckert and Thekla Weyrich Eckert.

James is survived by his wife, Dorothy Eckert of Stonewall; children: Patsy Slovacek & husband Patrick of Austin, Rodney Eckert & wife Denise of Stonewall, Jimmy Eckert & wife Cathy of Fredericksburg; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Harvey Eckert & wife Betty of Stonewall & sister-in-law, Emma Jane Eckert of Fredericksburg.

Funeral services for James Eckert will be at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Graveside services will follow in Stonewall Community Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fredericksburg Funeral Home in church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, or Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department.
