Funeral services for Kelly Hull Gallaher will be Friday, May 8, 2015, at 11:30 at Stephens Funeral Home in DeKalb, MS. Brother Chris Gully will officiate. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at New Hope Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Gallaher, 46, of Birmingham, MI, formerly Winona, MS and Ontario, OR, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at her sister's, Kristy Hull Barrett, residence in Birmingham, MI after a valiant battle with a brain tumor. She was surrounded by her loving sister, Kristy, who had been her caregiver for several months and her daughters.

She was born July 27, 1968, in Greenwood, MS. She attended East Elementary School in Greenwood and graduated from the MS School for the Blind in Jackson. She then attended Mississippi State University and graduated with a degree in elementary education. Upon graduation from State, she began an internship with Internal Revenue Service in Little Rock, AR. When her internship was completed, she took a permanent job with IRS in Portland, OR.

Kelly was stricken with a tumor on the optic nerve at the age of eight. She did not allow the inability to see to keep her from doing the things that she enjoyed. She loved her family, MSU Bulldogs,, country music, cooking and thoroughly enjoyed walking. She volunteered to assist the elderly with their income taxes and took great pride in preparing her own tax returns.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ontario, OR.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Kent Hull and mother, Sylvia Allen Hand; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Ray Hull and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Allen all of DeKalb and Dennis Allen, uncle, of DeKalb.

Survivors include her daughters, Bethany and Lilly; father, Charles Hull (Sandra) of Vaiden, MS; sister, Kristy Hull Barrett (Bruce) of Birmingham, MI; brother, Maury Allen Hull (Hope) of Bay Springs, MS; sister in law, Kay Lawrence Hull of Greenwood, MS; five nephews, Drew Hull (Blair), Shade Barrett, Hull Barrett, Kemper Hull and Wade Hull; two nieces, Ellen and Swayze Hull; an uncle, John Allen (Andy); an aunt, Dorothy Bradford (Billy); two cousins, Melanie Bradford (David); Mickey Allen (Amy); a special friend, who was like a second mother, Nannette Ellington (William) of Columbus, MS and her service dog, Dre.

Pallbearers will be Drew Hull, Mickey Allen and Roger Bright, Van Rodgers, Randy Moss and David Upchurch, of whom she lovingly referred to as her " brothers from another mother."
