Marshall Turk was named for his maternal grandfather, John Marshall (1803-1889). He died within a few days of the deaths of his younger sister, Charlotte Elizabeth Turk, his grandmother, Charlotte Kelker Marshall, and his young uncle, Freddie Marshall. Theirs were the first graves in the Marshall-Turk Family Plot in this cemetery.

Inscription: "JOHN / Son of J. & M. A. Turk / Died 3 Nov l854 / Aged 3 yr. 1 m. 1 d. / A little time on earth / he spent Till God for / him his angel sent / And then one time [?] he / closed his eyes, To wake / to glory in the skies."

A September 2007 cleaning of this stone by Kelly Marshall revealed the text of the religious poem chosen by the child's parents--see photo. Sam Turk, a grandnephew of Marshall Turk, and Sam's son-in-law Tim Orton, have set the restored stone in a permanent base.
