Fourth of five brothers born in Sandberg to Johann Holzheimer of Schmalwasser & Eva Buehner of Sandberg. Maried 23 Aug 1884 in Sandberg to Karolina Roder of Sandberg, daughter of Otto Fredrich Roder & Carolina Buhner both of Sandberg.

Came to USA twice; but returned to Ger.
Per Leo he made work clothes as a tailor. Back in Sandberg he opened the church daily and attended mass. He never learned to speak English, thus disliked the states. Was always told by parants not to come home as there was no work. Eventually returned to Sandberg after the 2 world wars.

There is a Castle Garden immigration record a Lorenz Holzheimer immigrated 21 Jan 1889, male, age 28 (= est 1860-61), ship Werra from Bremen, steerage, destination USA, occupation Smith. (Other family data states was a tailor). Brother Franz also on this ship.

Seven children were born in Sandberg: Heinrich 1885-1979 married Maria Beudel of Hassfurt au Main; Julianna 1886-1969 married Franz Schiel of Koblenz; Ida 15 Nov 1887- 31 Oct 1972, unmarried; Florian born 30 May 1889, came to Cleveland 25 Jul 1906, died in Cleveland 31 Dec 1959; Emil Killian 1894-1969 married Bernardine Koth; Sigismundt 1898-1979 married Lina Kirchner; Romana 1902- married Reinhard Friedel.

Was likely buried in Sandberg St Michael Church Cemetery; however, remains are kept only 30 years, bones buried under and recycled for others. This could be the plot now occupied by his son Emil & wife Berhardine plus grandson Leo Holzheimer 1926-1995.
