Montgomery Advertiser, Wednesday, December 7, 1910"Joshua L. Turrentine.GAINESVILLE, ALA., Dec. 6 - Joshua L. Turrentine died Sunday night after a long illness with locomotor ataxia. He was the son of General D. C. Turrentine, the first settler of Gadaden.He was born December 27, 1849, in Gadaden, Ala., of Christian parents, and was brought up in a Christian home. He was married to Miss Christina Gibbs, of Gainesville, Ala., thirty-three years ago, and seven children were born to them, six of whom are living. They are: Dr. J. C. Turrentine, of Mobile, Ala.; Mrs. Joseph E. Smith, Nashville, Tenn.; Mrs. Bertram Todd, of Nashville, Tenn.; Mrs. Sarah Aust, Miss Mattie Joe Turrentine, William C. Turrentine, of Gainesville, Ala. He also leaves three brothers and three sisters, James L. Turrentine of Omaha, Neb.; Albert Turrentine, of Florida; D. C. Turrentine, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Mrs. Jodie Randall, of Gadaden, Ala.; Mrs. A. Harris of Corsicana, Tex., and Mrs. Lilly Anshultz, of Illinois.
