David F. Thrasher, 100, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at his residence. Born June 21st, 1914 in Monroe County, he was the son of Charles and Myrtle (Ferguson) Thrasher. Survivors include his wife ViEva (Dunning) Thrasher, of Bloomington; son Jim Thrasher, of Bloomington; granddaughter Sarah Thrasher, of Chicago; sister Mildred Boruff, of Bloomington; and brother William Thrasher. David was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held from 5:30-8:00 pm Wednesday, May 13th 2015 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell & Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington. Services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, May 14th at The Funeral Chapel with an hour and a half of visitation prior to the service. Reverend Helen Hempfling will officiate. Burial will follow at Gosport Cemetery. Memorial contributions in David’s memory may be made to the IU Marching Hundred.
