Carol Ann Wade, 74, of Georgetown, passed away at 4:17 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2015, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

She was born on Aug. 3, 1940 in Georgetown, the daughter of Clarence and Lillian Grace (Nichols) Galyen. She was united in marriage to Glenn Wade on Dec. 31, 1958 in Georgetown, until his passing on Sept. 2, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Alonzo Becker; her son, Glenn ‘Butch’ Wade and her sister, Sharon Jones.

She is survived by her daughters, Melody (Wayne) Douglass and E. Jane (Roger) Gilkison; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, with one on the way and her brother, Roy (Alice) Galyen.

Carol worked at General Electric for five years and then at Peterson’s for 35 years. She was an active member of the Aluminum, Brick and Clay Worker’s Union and served as secretary.
