Death came Saturday, February 27, 1942 to Mrs. Joe Mullin in Osage City, Kansas. She spent the greater part of her life in Osage City.

Mrs. Mullin was born Ellen Gilges, daughter of Wheeler and Mary Jane (Arnott) Gilges, near Agricola, Kansas, December 21, 1869 and died on Saturday, February 28, 1942 at the age of 72 years, 2 months, and 7 days. She had been in failing health for the last two years. She came to Panteg Neighborhood at the age of 19 and spent the remainder of her life there. She was married to Joseph H. Mullin on February 5, 1890. He preceded her in death 4 years ago.

There were 5 children to bless their home; two daughters; Mary Ellen and Olive Blanche who passed away in infancy; three sons surviving, Wheeler of Topeka, KS; Victor of Laramie, WY; and Clifford Harvey of the home: 7 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. She also leaves 2 brothers, Ellsworth Gilges of Sun City, KS; and William Gilges of Conway Springs, KS; three sisters, Mrs. Ada Bowes, Denver, CO; Maude Dille of Lawton, KS; and Harriet Shivers of Blackwell, OK, and many other relatives and friends and all those who knew here loved her. She was always ready to help and will be sadly missed by all.
