Funeral services for Mrs. Vernell Alexander Littrell will be Sunday March 13 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Madison County. Mrs. Littrell died Thursday afternoon after a short illness. She was born in Decatur County and moved to Madison County at an early age and was educated in the Madison County schools.
She was the daughter of the late Chester Lee Alexander Sr. and Avis Fay Brasher Alexander. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bemis Chapel Baptist Church. She and her husband the late U. N. Littrell owned and operated Top Star Grocery for many years on Riverside Dr.
Survivors include three brothers C. L. Alexander and wife Mary Elizabeth of Jackson Billy Alexander and wife Imogene of Jackson and Tom Alexander of Puryear TN and a number of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother Bobby Lee Alexander.
Active pallbearers requested to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 2:00 p.m. are Bobby Joe White Sr. Bobby Joe White Jr. Dennis Lennon Lynn Littrell Mickey Littrell and Tim Alexander.
