Alva Noel, retired clay worker, died at 11:50 o'clock Thursday morning at his home at 222 north Desart street, after a protracted illness, aged 64 years. Mr. Noel had been in poor health for the past two years. Last July he suffered a second stroke which resulted fatally.
Mr. Noel was born in Greene county and was a son of James M. and Liza Noel, but had resided in this community, and was employed at the Sheridan plant for 18 years. He was a member of the First Methodist church and the Brazil aerie of Eagles.
The deceased is survived by the widow, Mrs. Emma Noel; a son and two daughters, Arthur Noel, city; Mrs. Harold Stearley, of Hadleytown, and Mrs. Chas. Nicholis, of Asherville; also eight grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters, Geo. Noel, of Spencer; Ike and Carle, of Bloomington; Mrs. George Rondebush and Miss America Noel, of Bloomfield, and Mrs. Aaron Simms, of Dugger.
The body was taken to Miller & Sons' Funeral Home where friends may call at any time after 4:00 o'clock Friday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 Saturday afternoon, Rev. R. G. Strong officiating, interment Cottage Hill cemetery.
