Isabel Torres, 76, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born February 27, 1930 to Anastasio C. and Margarita (Telles) Torres in Socorro, NM. She was a lifelong resident of Socorro, and for several years she worked for her father at the El Defensor del Pueblo. She also worked as a teacher's aide in the Socorro Public School system and at San Miguel. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jesus Torres; her sisters: Julia Armijo, Miquelita Sisneros, and Ann Turpin. She is survived by her brother, Anastacio Torres of Chicago, IL; her sister, Louise Callihan of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel with Father John C. Daniel as Celebrant. Burial will be in the San Miguel cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, 309 Garfield, Socorro, NM.
