Obituary: Teutopolis Press - February 26, 1948

William Woerman died early Wednesday morning, Feb. 25, 1948 at St Anthony Hospital at Effingham, where he had been a patient during the past three weeks. He was 76 years, 9 months and 17 days of age at the time of his death, having been born May 8, 1871.

Mr. Woerman was a resident of Green Creek where he had been making his home with sister Catherine and brother Frank Woerman for several years. His wife, the former Helen Mette, preceded him in death 39 years ago, as did also one son, Alphonse, who died 24 years ago at the age of 18 years.

Surviving are five children, namely: Henry Woerman of Antigo, Wisconsin; Mrs. Allie (Agnes) Kabbes of Green Creek; Mrs., Alf (Barbara) Sur and Richard Woerman of Effingham; besides 17 grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. John Nieman and Mrs. Allie Hoffman of Effingham Catherine of Green Creek; one brother: Frank Woerman of Green Creek; besides a host of other relatives and friends.

The remains will be taken from the Bauer Funeral Home at Effingham to the family home at Green Creek at 3 o'clock today, Thursday, where they will lay in state until Friday morning when they will be taken to St Mary Church at Green Creek where the Requiem High Mass will be sung at 9 o'clock. Interment will take place in the parish Cemetery at Green Creek.
