Iva Canney was born in Granger and lived there all her life. In April of 1931, she married Christopher Canney in Granger.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Beverly Steffen; seven brothers and sisters and five grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Baker and Peggy Hotchkiss, both of Granger, and Patricia Shafer of Grimes; three sisters, Betty Holland of Urbandale; Margaret Murray of Johnston and Maxine Tiernan of Granger; nine grandchildre, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
