J. C. Corrigan, 81, Dies In Hospital
Former Postmaster Of Corriganville
Had Hip Broken Here
Joseph C. Corrigan, 81, former postmaster of Corriganvllle, died this morning in Allegany Hospital where he was admitted February 7 after suffering a fractured hip in a fall down several steps at the Windsor Hotel here. Complications resulting from the injury were blamed for his death. Relatives said Mr. Corrigan, a retired grocer, had been in "excellent health" prior to the accident. He operated a store at the old home place in Corriganville for a number of years, retiring about three years ago. A native of this city, Mr, Corrigan was a son of the late Matthew
and Anne (Garvey) Corrigan. He belonged to St. Patrick's Catholic Church here. Surviving are a sister, Miss Catherlne Corrigan, at home, and a number of nieces and nephews, including Martin M. Corrigan, 110 Greene Street, superintendent of the city Street Department. Services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church with
interment in the church cemetery. The body will remain at Stein's Chapel until tomorrow when it will be taken to the residence.
